STUDY SPECIALIZATION IN CLIMATE RISK MANAGEMENT AT U.D.C.A!

Through the Specialization in Climate Risk Management, the School of Environmental Sciences and Engineering aims to fill a gap in the training of environmental leaders in climate change. It has focused its attention on defining the probability of occurrence of floods or droughts, a fundamental issue to determine the costs of not acting in adapting to climate change; also, foresight has glimpsed the effects that climate change will bring and has added the lines of adaptation to climate change in: infrastructure, ecosystems, communities and technology, given that climate change is a global phenomenon that requires a deep understanding of the environment and the ability to lead processes of change in society.

GRADUATE PROFILE

Graduates of the Specialization in Climate Risk Management will be able to recognize opportunities and threats imposed on the territory by climate risks. Lead administrative and social structures in search of enhancing opportunities and minimizing threats related to climate change. Identify elements of competitiveness, planning and Geographic Information Systems aimed at climate change adaptation. Generate, evaluate and implement climate change adaptation models. Perform technical and control functions in national, regional and local entities. Develop, coordinate and evaluate climate change adaptation plans.
