Profile of our Graduates

It is based on the fundamentals of basic medical sciences, preventive medicine and animal production systems. The professional graduate of the programme of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry of the U.D.C.A., through their capacity to integrate the elements of health and production, on an environmentally sustainable and sustainable basis, will be able to argue, interpret and communicate orally or in writing, scientific and technological documents related or collateral to their fields of action.

Mission

The Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics programme seeks to train integral professionals through humanistic, scientific, environmental and industrial knowledge, with the aim of promoting animal health, in terms of the production of agricultural goods and services to improve the quality of life of mankind, with an emphasis on marginal and less favoured rural communities.

Vision

The Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics programme seeks to be recognised as a programme that responds to the needs of the country and the region by training professionals with scientific and technological capacity, capable of providing solutions to problems related to agricultural production, animal health, public health and disease management and prevention.

Our Clinic

VETERINARY

The University Veterinary Clinic is an Academic Unit attached to the Faculty of Livestock Sciences, which has been providing services to the community for more than 25 years, based on the experience, training and suitability of its team of veterinary doctors, zootechnical veterinarians and zootechnicians; professionals with extensive experience and a sense of belonging to their patients.

Research Group

ANIMAL SCIENCE

The research group aims to generate knowledge in areas relevant to the country in areas related to animal health and production, population medicine, zoonosis and conservation medicine. In order to achieve this objective, the group develops research projects within five research lines, which are: Animal Production, Population Medicine, Zoonosis and Conservation Medicine: Animal Production, Population Medicine, Conservation Medicine, Zoonosis and Animal Health. The projects carried out in the field of conservation medicine have allowed the conservation of native species such as the savannah skipper fish and the Pacarana.
